Equine Sports Massage

 JAS Stables Eventing is proud to be partnered with Katie Davis' newest endeavor;
4 Star Equine Performance Therapy.

    Before horses, Katie was balancing a pre-medicine major and being an internationally ranked athlete.  She has always loved understanding how things "tick" and applying that knowledge to become a more competitve athlete.  Now that Katie is competing her own string of upper level horses, she decided that their was a perfect way not only to satisfy her fascination with physiology, but also give her horses a competitive edge.  Witnessing the benefits of equine sports massage therapy before, Katie decided to pursue becoming a certified equine sports massage therapist.  Some might say Katie has the genes for it and is keeping with family tradition; both her mother, Patsy and sister, Megan are highly demanded deep tissue sports massage therapists for people!

    It was almost too good to be true when Katie discovered that ESMT pioneer Mary Schreiber based her Equissage certification program out of a beautiful convenient facility in Round Hill, VA
www.equissage.com .  You will never forget an experience with Mary.  She is one of the nicest, most positive, nurturing people you will ever meet.  Every animal Katie encountered at Mary's facility, were relaxed, content, and happy.  With a passionate teacher, who claimed after almost 30 years of massaging she is still "learning new ways to massage", Katie soaked up wonderful stories and knowledge.  Intuitive, attentive and determined, Katie passed her National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork for work with equines.

    Since then Katie has been a massaging "machine", and loves every minute of it.  She couldn't have asked for anything more rewarding then giving back to the wonderful equines that have made her career so successful.  Being an athlete herself, Katie understands that a tight muscle is not performing to the best of it's ability, but also starts to effect the rest of the muscular system, causing an inevitable chain reaction.  Any horse can have sore muscles, so Katie decided to not limit herself to just her own performance horses, but to extend her services and welcome all owners and horses of any discipline.  She created a business named after the highest level of eventing, but would also convey that all horses and owners deserve to feel capable of "4 Star" performances.  Thus 4 Star Equine Performance
Therapy was started, specializing in equine sports massage therapy, and welcoming all disciplines!  Katie is available to travel and will also take clients "in-house" at her Purcellville facility.  Katie's rates start at $75.00/massage.
